ARTIST
PAT M HERSHEY
WATERCOLOR PAINTING
Refers to the medium, a water-soluble paint that has transparent or translucent properties. Many people describe watercolors as being “soft” or “light” because the pigments in watercolors are often not as bright as acrylics or oil paints.
Pat Hershey’s primary and most prolific period as an artist was when she painted in watercolor. Here you see a great variety in subject matter and style. As her mobility decreased with age, she continued to paint, but her paintings diminished in size. Some of her last paintings were greeting cards. We plan to add more paintings to this gallery over time.
